how does one make this sound?


i've already tried my casio, my nokia and the fisher-price, so please dont come up with those answers

think theres some white noise in them samples but what ever is in em there hizzle loads of fx. thats the key to makin samples that stand out

asked some help from my girlfriends brother, he know about 10 times as much about synths and all than me, and i'd like to think i already know a lot.

and he didnt get it as well..


did notice though that the sound has some resemblances with the dnbbass2 preset in z3ta+

I got close with a comination of square waves and bitcrushing. and EQing out a lot of the Highs and a lot of the Lows.... it wasn't exact but with some resampling and messing about more it might have been on it's way.

I made it using the TAL Bitcrusher plugin and the Sytrus VSTi, it's all about getting the right sounds from the synthesizer before adding fx.

If u want that majestic impact to it u need to record the speakers/headphones with a mic and then use that sound and see if it sounds good. I know it sounds crazy but that way u get a nice noise that u can't rly get with any plugins, it's not rly noise tho it's just this weird quality. Just experiment like hell.

yeah, a lot of it, the distinctive parts seem to be square waves with chorus effect. but that's just the upper layer, then you layer that on a sine wave. compress together, add nuts as desired. the Wow sound is Envelope on Filter.

to be honest it's not a bass sound it's a lead, over a sub. like most good solid basslines. you can do it with anything.

other more subtler effects would be bit distortion,a nd multi band distortions used in said lead.

so i used MDA degrade, probably the best bit crusher sound i have ever used, lots of good controls on it. other then that just regular fruity, the bitcrush isn't even that important.


edit: yeah, i think i am few octaves higher up then what he uses.... ... meh... close enough, just drop the keynote down 2 octaves.

majority of sounds i make are not raw from the synth i rerecord them on a audio track then i add lots of plugins, filters, noise shapers, distortion and a few layers to make the sounds weird. i dont like bitcrushers.. just not keen on that horrible digital sound if u get me, prefer the more analog warm sound. lol if u c where im going with this
